Princess Diana was branded as one of the most photographed people in the world, from when she shot to fame during her dating days with Prince Charles to her untimely death in August 1997.
During her incredible life, Princess Diana was captured hugging HIV patients, doing charity work, relaxing on holiday and, of course, with her two young boys William and Harry.
Throughout her life, Lady Di could switch her look in an instant.

One day, she may be sporting a down-to-earth, casual outfit to play with the kids and the next, dressed to the nines in the finest couture for an event or gala.
A true fashion chameleon, Diana did it all with grace and always looked incredible doing so.
In celebration of her 61st birthday, take a look at some of the most famous looks in history worn by the woman herself.
The Revenge Dress
Arguably one of the most recognisable pictures in history, the image of Princess Diana stepping out in the revenge dress shook the world.
The figure hugging mini dress reached just above her knees, which were covered in sheer black tights and outlined the princess’ long, toned legs.
The low-cut neckline showed off a small amount of cleavage and featured a pair of arm straps that were draped just above her elbows.
The sweetheart neckline and cinched waist accentuated her hourglass figure, with a small train of black fabric attached to her left hip.
The skin-tight dress was paired with black pointed toe stiletto heels, a thick multi-layered pearl necklace with a large blue stone, her signature fluffy pixie cut and a winning smile.
She seemed surprisingly upbeat as she arrived at the Serpentine Gallery in 1994.
Diana attended an evening dinner at Kensington Gardens after her husband, Prince Charles, had publicly admitted to cheating on his wife that same evening.
Her former stylist Anna Harvey had revealed that she wanted to “look a million dollars” and so the pair set about preparing her look, which was very daring for a royal as it exposed much of her chest and legs.
Signature Style
From one extreme to the other, Princess Di could do it all.
A staple outfit in her downtime, Diana perfectly blended comfort and chic with an oversized jumper, a pair of skin-tight cycling shorts and a fresh white pair of trainers.
One notable look stood out from the rest as the public’s favourite, which featured a navy blue crewneck emblazoned with the Virgin Atlantic logo, a pair of tiny peach coloured shorts, crumpled white sports socks, a pair of black and white trainers and a black tote bag.
Often topped off with a pair of large black sunglasses, when Lady Di stepped out in her signature look she was ready for action.
She inspired a whole generation of women’s athleisure and fashion articles regarding this particular outfit are still written and used as inspiration today.
Holiday Looks
There are many photographs of Princess Diana throughout the years, but one of the most famous is a shot of the former royal enjoying a well-deserved holiday.
She can be seen perched at the very end of a yacht’s diving board with her legs dangling over the crystal clear water below.
Diana leaned forward and placed her hands on the board as she pointed her toes down at the sea, the vast expanse it stretching out behind her.
In this shot, Diana wore a stunning bright turquoise swimsuit with a low-cut which exposed her back.
The high leg slit accentuated her famous legs and she wore her fluffy blonde hair in her signature ear length style.
Power Suits
Never one to shy away from a suit, Lady Di was an avid fan of a well structured suit that showed she meant business.
She wore every colour, from a bright crimson skirt suit with matching tights and heels to a demure grey pinstriped ensemble, but perhaps her most famous look was a navy double breasted set she wore to a concert in 1990.
Diana shaped the mould for womenswear amongst the royal family and constantly broke protocol – this time, she made history as the first royal female to wear trousers to an evening event.
The masculine tailoring and large silk lapels complimented her height and she paired it with black heeled pumps to add a feminine edge.
