Love Island's Luca mocked for 'boring' conversations during sexy hideaway date with Gemma

Luca Bish has been mocked after he spent a night in the Love Island hideaway with partner Gemma Owen – only to talk about bread and whisper to her while they were sleeping.

The fishmonger has been coupled up with the daughter of football star Michael for a good while, and on Thursday evening’s episode their fellow Islanders gave them a special night together in the hideaway – a secluded room with a comfy double bed and filled with romantic items.

Having already seen two couples get hot and bothered in the hideaway so far this series, fans were expecting more steamy scenes between Luca and Gemma.

But that wasn’t what they got, with Luca even asking the 19-year-old while they were cuddling if she preferred white or brown bread.

Fans were quick to mock these comments, labelling the pair “boring”, and on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, it was a similar story.

Hosts Kem Cetinay (who spent his own time in the hideaway during his series) and Arielle Free were left wanting more.

Kem went to bat for the pair, saying: “I’m all about Luca and Gemma, I love him.

“But when you’re in bed – it is a raunchy place the hideaway, it’s quite intimate. That’s not my sexy talk. I thought he got a little bit nervous”

Arielle responded by pointing out that Gemma had gone full pelt for it, saying: “That opportunity for the hideaway arrived, Gemma grabbed it by the lace fringe bodysuit, high heels, slicked-back hair, she was up for it. What did Luca do? Talk about bread. Bread.

The couple will be tested in Friday’s episode as the arrival of Casa Amor is set to rock the villa

“I want to see them have a bit of fun. Where was the chocolate sauce? The handcuffs? That was a missed opportunity. They could’ve read the phonebook and it would’ve been more exciting.”

Kem did note that we are only shown snippets of the day in the nightly episodes, so they could well have gotten up to more and we just didn’t see it.

The couple managed to survive the public vote, but two Islanders will be booted out of the villa on Friday night’s show before the arrival of everyone’s favourite: Casa Amor.
