Katie Price speeding charge dismissed after avoiding prison stint for drink-drive crash

Katie Price has had two charges, including one of speeding, dismissed at a management hearing at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.

The two charges were dropped as “no evidence was offered”.

Katie, 44, had been charged with one count of exceeding the 60mph speed limit on September 13 2021, and then one count of failing to provide information in January this year.

Katie received a 16-week prison sentence, and was suspended for 12 months, as well as being ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement sessions within the next year.

She was also ordered to pay ££85 in costs and was disqualified from driving for two years.

A judge told her at the time: “You have one of the worst driving records I have ever seen.”

The model also received an 18-month community order and told to pay £1,500 at Lewes Crown Court after pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order.

Katie admitted to sending a text to her ex-husband Kieran Hayler in January this year regarding his fiancee Michelle Penticost, branding her a “c***ing w**re” and a “gutter s**g”.

Judge Stephen Mooney delivered his verdict in court on June 24, and told the star that he judged the offence was “committed out of anger” and “could not be considered minor”.

He added: “In my judgement, balancing the aggravating and mitigating factors, the appropriate sentence is a medium-level community order.”

Katie was present in court and was supported by her fiance Carl Woods, as the couple were seen walking hand-in-hand into the court as she arrived for the hearing.

Kieran, 35, spoke after the verdict and said he was “incredibly disappointed”, adding: “We feel a custodial sentence would have sent the right message to the public given the seriousness of Miss Price’s offending.”

Just one day after the hearing, Katie and Carl jetted off to Thailand for another getaway, and have been pictured looking very loved-up as they topped up their tans in South East Asia.
