Simon Cowell shares X Factor reboot plans with pal Sinitta as major changes teased

The X Factor is reportedly set to make a return to British TV screens and there’s one familiar face set to be involved.

Simon Cowell is said be in big-money talks to revive the long running talent show, that last aired on ITV in 2018.

After nearly five years off air and it’s been confirmed that he’s been in touch with an old pal to help with the reboot.

80’s music star Sinitta has confirmed that Simon has directly been in touch with her regarding the show.

When asked about the prospect of the show to make a return, she told the Mail Online : “I’m so excited about it and I have spoke to Simon and I think it would be great for it to come back. I need to hear more,”

“He was kind of like, ‘We’ll talk next week,’ so I don’t know if he was just being evasive or if he was genuinely busy but I was like, ‘Let’s talk, what’s going on?'”

The show has been responsible for bringing household names into the industry including One Direction, Leona Lewis and Fifth Harmony in the US and Sinitta thinks there’s room for the series to make a bold return.

The 58 year-old television personality been a longtime companion of the music mogul both as a staple of the show in the Judges Houses stage of the competition and as a personal friend.

She was always on hand to offer a second opinion as the fan-favourite judge decided which of his acts he was going to continue to mentor.

But Sinitta wants to get more involved in the creative process and reveals she even pitched format changes to the show to make it a big success.

She explained: “I think talent needs to be showcased, needs to be discovered.

And even though she’s up for possibly making a return to mentor contestants, Sinitta reveals she’s unsure whether a permanent judging panel would even be needed if the show is to come back.

She explained: “I don’t think you need judges. The public are gonna judge with their vote. The vote is the judges.”
