Emmerdale fans spotted what seemed like a savage nod to Boris Johnson’s resignation right before Faith’s emotional farewell scenes.
It was a highly emotional episode on Thursday (July 7) as Faith (Sally Dexter) began saying her goodbyes to her friends and family on the Dales.
She has been battling cancer but has decided to stop her treatment, meaning her days on the Dales are sadly numbered.

However, some viewers noticed Faith said “them’s the breaks” during her precious evening with Eric – the exact phrase prime minister Boris used in his resignation speech earlier that day.

Shooting for the ITV soap normally occurs way before the episodes air on TV so it’s most likely a coincidence, but it seemed like producers had slipped in a subtle swipe at the Tories.
One thing is for sure, and that’s that it added a much needed bit of light relief to an otherwise emotionally-heavy episode.
One fan said: “Thems the breaks.’ Says Faith. She’s not the only person to say that ridiculous line today!!”

Fans were devastated by the sad ending, which saw Faith and Cain watch a beautiful sunrise together.
Though it was not the heartbreaking ending some fans had predicted, it was clear that this is the beginning of the end for Faith.
One viewer said: “wish Faith wasn’t leaving and I won’t be able to watch that episode but tonight was heartbreaking”.
