Declan Donnelly has found solace in a heartfelt quote about loss following the sudden death of his older brother, Dermott.
Father Dermott passed away on Friday (July 8) aged 55 after being “seriously ill” in hospital.
Following his death, Dec, 46, and work partner Ant McPartlin, 46, both commented on the news, alongside liking the quote from their shared Instagram account.

It was from a tweet which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” which has been attributed to Dr Seuss.
Dec had announced the news of Father Dermott’s death on Twitter, writing: “I am heartbroken to tell you that my darling brother Fr. Dermott sadly passed away this afternoon.
“We are all beyond devastated. Thank you for your messages of sympathy and support. They are appreciated.”
Ant also paid tribute to Father Dermott on Twitter, writing: “Fr Dermott you were the kindest, wisest man I knew. Rest in peace my friend. You will never be forgotten.”
He continued: “My thoughts, prayers and love are with your wonderful family. The world has lost a special man.”
Father Dermott is understood to have officiated Dec’s 2015 wedding to wife, Ali Astall, 43, after being a priest for 30 years.
His friend, Father Peter Kyi Maung, 45, paid him a visit in hospital shortly before he passed away.

“He was hardly breathing in the bed, it was so sad. They think he had bleeding on the brain,” the priest said.
And paying tribute, Father Maung commented: “[Father Dermott] was a very good priest, a kind priest, I was inspired by him to serve here. He was such a good guy.”
He also reported that Father Dermott’s death was thought to be due to a bleed on the brain.
He wrote: “He was hardly breathing in the bed, it was so sad. They think he had bleeding on the brain.”
