Love Island contestants who have been kicked out of show for breaking strict rules

With the eighth series of Love Island nearing the end of its second week, there’s been plenty of drama from walkouts, re-couplings to steamy moments.

While all the loved-up moments and explosive arguments are equally important in making the ITV reality series so beloved to viewers, there are some strict rules in place to ensure things never get too out of control.

Six things are considered absolute no-nos once the Islanders enter the villa, and contestants who break these rules can end up booted from the show.

Here are some of the contestants who have been removed from various Love Island seasons for breaking rules.

Malia Arkin

Malia Arkin was the first contestant to be kicked out of Love Island in 2016 after just one day in the villa, because she picked a fight with Kady McDermott after going on a date with Scott Thomas.

Arkin split a drink on McDermott’s leg, which the latter believed was intentional. This then led to a heated argument, which escalated after Malia started a physical fight, which ended with her being booted from the show.

Sherif Lanre

Sherif Lanre left the villa just nine days into the fifth series of Love Island, after breaking rules on the show. When he left, it was not unconfirmed which ruled he’d broken.

He said: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa. I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.”

However, he later revealed to Sun on Sunday that he’d been asked to leave the show for “accidentally kicking fellow islander Molly-Mae Hague in the groin area, after which he joked about it using bad language, including the c-word”

Georgia Steel and Sam Bird

Georgia Steel and Sam Bird couldn’t keep their hands off each other during their stint on Love Island in 2018.

When they were asked to decided whether stay in the villa as singletons or leave as a couple, they chose to stay.

However, though they agreed to the caveat that they couldn’t choose each other at the next re-coupling, the pair were seen snogging each other secretly on the sofa.

Viewers then called for them to be chucked out for breaking the rules.

Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham

Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodham started having sex on top of their covers, thinking such a steamy scene wouldn’t be aired.

However, they were wrong as millions of viewers – as well as their villa-mates- were given the full experience of their romp.

Ironically, the graphic bedroom scene came just hours after Emma vowed not to have sex on TV.

Rosie Williams and Megan Barton Hanson

Love Island contestants are not allowed to be naked inside the villa, as it is technically classed as a public space.

Though no one has been booted off the show for breaking the nudity rule so far, two 2018 contestants Rosie Williams and Megan Barton Hanson pushed the boundaries on it during their time on the show.

The pair ditched their tops for a sexy photoshoot with the aim of making Adam Collard jealous.
