Toby revealed his brutally honest thoughts on the fishmonger during a Reddit Q&A with Love Island fans on Thursday (July 21) night.
Asked which boys he’d be closest to on this year’s series, he replied: “I think I would be closest to Dami. I’m 50-50 with Luca at the moment, I don’t know if we would clash or not, I think we might clash.”
Later on, he offered his hot take on Luca’s relationship with Gemma, telling fans he thought Luca should let the dressage rider “breathe”.

He started off:” Sometimes I think he’s a calm guy, a nice guy. That’s how I don’t know if I could get a long with him or not, because sometimes I think ‘yeah, I would’. Sometimes I think ‘bro’.
“He’s always got something to say, he’s always got his two pence to put in. It’s just he’s so clingy to Gemma and I think ‘gosh, give the girl [space], let her breathe!’ You don’t need to always put your arm around her and be two metres away from her. Let her live her life!”
He went on: “She’s 19, he’s young twenties. You’re not married, you’re not even boyfriend and girlfriend yet. You can still be separate entities.”
However, he defended Luca when he added: “But I’m not in there 24-7, so he might only be like that for an hour.”
Luca has become a controversial contestant on this year’s series following his feuds with Gemma Owen during the Movie Night episodes on Sunday and Monday night (July 18).
He raged at Gemma and accused her of flirting with Billy Brown, but she insisted she’d done nothing wrong.
Many viewers proceeded to slam his behaviour online and even Luca’s family admitted they didn’t condone his behaviour.
Shortly after, Luca’s sister Claudia, who has been handling her brother’s social accounts, issued a statement urging fans to stop messaging her family abuse.
She also said she’s been physically sick from crying following the death threats her family has been sent.
The post came just an hour after the Love Island contestants’ families and friends pledged shared a joint statement defending the stars from hateful messages.
