Love Island’s Marcel Somerville has revealed why they no longer show naked Islanders on the programme.
Series three star Marcel exclusively chatted to the Daily Star during a Facebook Live chat last week.
When chatting to showbiz host Carly Hacon about the new series, she said how Islanders aren’t allowed to get completely naked in the villa now, due to newer rules.

To which he responded: “Are you sure? That’s ridiculous though. How are you meant to have a shower?”
The host then brought up a snap of Marcel in the villa which was cropped to cover his modesty – but on the show, producers had shown him fully nude from behind whilst getting into the shower.

Discussing why the show doesn’t air such scenes like this anymore, he laughed and said: “I know there was some booty in that and it did get picked up and the fans were raving about the booty so maybe there hasn’t been anyone with a booty like mine this time.
Marcel explained: “You’ve gotta think of it like this… When you break it down, the show has gone from being a show that was for more for like late teens and early adults to a lot of people watching the show.
“And that’s why on my season there was so much smoking there was everything going on and all of that has been cut from the show because they want to spread to a wider audience.
“So, there are kids in school 13/14 watching the show so they don’t want to encourage smoking and they don’t want them to be seeing explicit nudity so they are tailoring it.
“By all means, there are naked cast members on this season but you’re just not seeing it because they don’t need to edit it in. Back in my day of Love Island, it used to be a lot more raunchy.”

He has also revealed that the ITV2 villa is impossible to escape from.
Talking about his time in the villa, the Blazin Squad star also said: “There’s no way you can escape, you can probably try running but you haven’t got a passport and you haven’t got any money.
“You’d probably get to the bottom of the road and be like ‘yo, I’m running away from a villa where there’s free food and you’re chilling and potentially coming out of it when you’re going to make loads of money.”
