BBC The One Show's Alex Jones thanks fans for support after 'rough' patch in life

The One Show ‘s presenter Alex Jones has thanked her fans for their support following an online post describing a “tricky and challenging patch in her life”.

The 45 year old was forced to put on a brave face during the latest episode of the popular BBC programme however she also made sure she told fans online that she was feeling “ok” in spite of her rough time.

Jumping onto her Instagram, Alex posted a picture of a lemon as she updated fans on what’s been going in her life at the moment.

She penned: “Things have been a bit tricky for us recently and in all honesty, I haven’t had time to be on here between working and the children but I randomly logged on and saw all your lovely messages gently asking if we were all ok.

“I was touched by your kindness and so I just wanted to check in and say thank you, and that even though life has been a bit challenging, we are ok and still managing to enjoy the beginning of the holidays and there’s still plenty to smile about! (I’ll pop some stuff on my stories).”

She finished off by writing the following hashtags: “#whenlifegivesyoulemons” and “#thekindnessofstrangers.”

Seeing her heartfelt post, fans rushed to the comment section to share words of encouragement.

One person wrote: “Alex you have three young children! Be kind to yourself and your other half. You come first, only do IG etc when you feel like it. They grow up so quickly.”

Another penned: “Make lemonade! Sorry to hear things have been ropey. Hope it improves soon.”

A third said: “Hard working with three children we all understand my daughter gets frazzled at time trying to balance home and working life I do all I can to help her .. hope you have love and help as well. Stay safe and well..”

Meanwhile a fourth concerned social media user added: “Glad to hear that you are all ok. Life is tough!”

On Tuesday evening’s show (July 27), Alex made no refrence to how she was personally feeling while presenting alongside Jermaine Jenas.

Adhering to schedule, The One Show previewed the Lionesses’ Euro semi-final clash against Sweden which saw England beat them with a 4-0 win.
