Duncan James would 'snatch up' Denise Van Outen if he was straight after brutal split

Duncan James has confessed he would be in a relationship with his best pal Denise Van Outen if he was straight.

The former Big Breakfast presenter split from ex-boyfriend Eddie Boxshall back in January after seven years of dating when she discovered he had been sending intimate messages to other women behind her back.

While the blonde bombshell was on the hunt for love, she dragged along the former Blue member to replace her ex-boyfriend on her sofa and join her on Celebrity Gogglebox.

As she went back on the market in an effort to find the man of her dreams, her best friend was there by her side ready to support her in the blink of an eye.

Now, exclusive interview with Daily Star, the boyband hunk confessed he would “snatch her up” if he wasn’t gay.

As the musician prepares to collaborate with Claire Richards from Steps to create the ultimate wedding band, Simply Wed, the TV star opened up about he feels about her.

He confessed: “Well if I wasn’t gay, I’d be snatching her up put it that way.”

But last month, the 48-year-old revealed she was no longer single after she went official with her new boyfriend Jimmy Barba.

And it seems as though Duncan approves of her new man who has been fully accepted by her close friends and family after showbiz pal Duncan revealed how her life has changed since he stepped into her life.

He said: “Of course I wanted to be with her when she was going through her break up with Eddie.

“And of course, I’m just so happy now that she’s so happy with Jimmy and she’s got her sparkle back again and I’m just really happy to see her in love and happy again, it’s lovely.”

It was previously reported that the boyband member wanted to go on a double date with Denise and her new fella to enjoy a meal together.

The star wanted to take the couple out for dinner in order to get to know the new man in her life and work out whether or not he is good enough for her.

When asked if he had managed to meet her new partner in the flesh for the first time, he admitted that although he hasn’t gone out for a meal with him, the group managed to hang out as a group recently.

He went on: “We haven’t all gone out for a meal but I have met him. We all got to hang out the other day when we were all together and just to see her with him and to have a chat with him and a catch up [was great].”

But he reassured fans that the property developer has been given the seal of approval by her best mate as he added: “He gets a big tick [from me].”

The former Blue bandmember is set to team up with Claire Richards to form the ultimate wedding supergroup – Simply Wed to perform live at one lucky couple’s wedding.
