Emmerdale’s Zoe Henry has revealed she did not want Rhona to become a Dingle, as she did not want the same surname as her real-life hubby’s character.
Zoe Henry is married to Cain Dingle actor Jeff Hordley away from the Dales, with whom she has two children.
However on-screen, her character Rhona Goskirk is preparing to marry Marlon Dingle in upcoming scenes due to air next week.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star and other press, Zoe has now revealed that she did not want Rhona to take on the Dingle surname for a very personal reason, saying: “I said, ‘Don’t want to be a Dingle.
“I don’t want to be the same surname in the show as my real husband is. Anyway, my wish has come true as she doesn’t become a Dingle.”
Reflecting on Rhona’s previous marriages to Paddy Kirk and Pierce Harris, she said that not changing the character’s name to Dingle was also fitting for Rhona, saying: “I thought long and hard about this, because she’s never changed her name.
“She’s always been a Goskirk. Leo is a Goskirk. She has stayed the same and her mum is here now.
“I like the fact that she has retained her name. She’s never changed her name to Kirk or Harris.”
With Rhona preparing to marry Marlon Dingle and into one of the most famous clans in Emmerdale history however, Zoe said that Rhona does not mind joining the family, but will not be taking up some of the Dingle family traditions at the upcoming wedding.
“I don’t mind a little bit of Dingle stuff, but not too much. No welly drinking!”
Rhona and Marlon’s wedding is one of the highly-anticipated moments in the soap – but things do not look to go to plan on the day after Marlon is hospitalised the night before their big day.
Best man Paddy Kirk is there to help though – with viewers left on the edge of their seat as they wait to see if he gets Marlon to the church on time.
Speaking about their upcoming nuptials, Marlon actor Mark Charnock said: “This is the best one [wedding] by far. It’s absolutely marvellous,” adding that Rhona and Marlon are “as solid as a couple could be”.
