Mark Labbett sparks fears he’s quit The Chase as he ‘signs up for’ rival network

Mark Labbett has left fans terrified he’s leaving The Chase for good, as he teased he’s signed up to a rival network.

The quizzer, better known by his alter ego The Beast while taking part on the ITV show, is currently across the pond in the States, working on a mystery project.

But eagle-eyed fans are concerned that it could mean Mark leaving his job for good, after his character on the US version of the show was axed.

One begged: “As long as we still get your services here in Blighty as well! Best of luck, Sir Mark!”, as another posted: “I guess you can’t say. But what are you working on?”

“You will have to make do with ITV!” another follower warned him.

Mark recently confirmed a new job after being axed from The Chase US, telling fans that he was “gutted” not to be invited back onto the show.

He tweeted: “Gutted to not be invited back but really excited at the new lineup. I am expecting Brandon and Victoria to wow America!”

And when fans questioned the decision by bosses, he explained: “They just didn’t renew me. No reason was offered.”

It has now been revealed by BuzzerBlog, a quiz show website, that: “The Chase has had an alarming downward trend for season 3. It lost 33% of its demo (0.32) and nearly 40% of its viewers (2.229M average).

Mark has since landed a job for GSN – or Game Show Network – a streaming service owned by Sony.

But it has been left to fans’ imaginations to work out what he could be doing over at Warner Bros.

During his trip across the sea, Mark also showcased a film poster for Idris Elba’s new flick Beast on a sunny Hollywood street, joking: “Dear Mr Elba, you are a wonderful actor but this nickname is already taken.”
