Charlotte Crosby thanked by Geordie Shore co-star for saving his career after brutal axe

Ricci Guarnaccio claims he has Charlotte Crosby to thank for his career after he was sacked from MTV’s Geordie Shore.

The DJ and producer thanked the soon-to-be-mum for opening doors for him after television bosses continued to “knock” him after he was axed from the reality show.

Ricci claims he was sacked in 2014 after he split up from his on-off girlfriend Vicky Pattison, having received a call from his agent the next day to say he wasn’t part of the next lineup.

Fast forward nine years and the 35-year-old is hoping to become the next big name in music, taking on the likes of David Guetta and his former MTV co-star, Joel Corry.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, he said: “People get their favourite characters and people related to the storylines and the relationships.

“You had the Gaz and Charlotte thing, you had the me and Vicky thing, the James and Holly thing. You had all these big personalities and it was bonkers.”

He added: “There’s only one Charlotte, she’s opened up so many doors for us when everyone was knocking us back for TV shows.

“She was the first one of us to do Celebrity Big Brother, then I was the next one I think, then Scotty T.

“Charlotte was the one opening up doors for all of us, I’ve made it well aware of, she’s powerful.

“From Geordie, it’s great that some of ua come out with great careers and being able to do great things, I thank Charlotte for doing a lot of it.”

Ricci went on to say: “I love seeing people, especially from the show I was on going to do good things.

“I’m not one of these people that sit there and don’t want people to do other TV shows, I’ve been really fortunate, I’ve done really well in my career.”

Elsewhere, Ricci went on to reveal that his Geordie Shore fame allowed him to earn “loads” from nightclub appearances and television deals across the globe.

He explained: “When I came back from Australia, I did just under 80 PAs over there and I was run ragged.

“I was overweight because I’d been travelling, I did Ex After Dark with MTV, I did a movie, I was run ragged for an entire.

“We [my management] and I sat down and I was like ‘I can’t continue to do that year in, year out, my body was knackered, even though I made a fortune, it was unviable moving forward.”

Ricci is riding high following the release of his latest single, Gotta Let You Go, one of his favourite songs.

Discussing the track, he said: “I’ve put blood, sweat and tears into it, I really love the track, it’s got that summer anthem.

“I’ve sat on it for a while because I’ve got a few more tracks with the label but covers really seem to take well because people know them
