Kids’ telly favourite Laa-Laa from the Teletubbies was the victim of a stalker.
The actress who played the character has revealed a sicko pestered her with perverted post – not addressed to her, but to her fluffy yellow character.
Nikky Smedley said she had to let BBC bosses know about the person who was acting weirdly towards her and her ongoing stalker ordeal.

She explained: “While it was always wonderful to read fan mail, I sometimes found myself on the receiving end of something more sinister.
“Such as the time I discovered I had a stalker. Well, more accurately, Laa-Laa had a stalker.”
In her new book, Over the Hills and Far Away, Nikky tells of her shock at getting filthy letters sent to Tubbyland. She said: “I started getting fan mail from a grown man telling me what a saucy little Teletubby I was and what he
would like to do to me – with Tubby custard. Ick.
“I let the bosses know, in case I came to a grisly – and sticky – end, but after a few months, the letters tailed off and it became apparent that I was no longer starring in the stalker’s fantasies.
“Perhaps he graduated to a Tweenie.”
Nikky also said the scare made her fib about what her job was if strangers ever asked.
The actress added: “I decided to say I was a gardener instead. I liked talking about plants.”
Nikky later left television to write and perform children stories and to work in theatre events. She also took on work as an education consultant.
