Loose Women star Katie Piper has been rushed to hospital for an emergency operation after her husband noticed a black hole in her eye.
The 38-year-old TV star revealed that her left eye became “extremely painful” as she took to her Twitter page to share the news.
Posting a snap of herself with her eye bandaged up, she explained: “Emergency Operation for me! On Saturday my husband noticed a small black circle in my blind eye, I was excited thinking I had a pupil again, but by Sunday my left eye was extremely painful and couldn’t tolerate light, so I patched it up and put it down to old injuries.”

Admitting that she’s used to a certain level of discomfort due to being blind in one eye, she still went into work.
However, things took a turn for the worse by Sunday night as she felt nausea and was in “extreme pain”.
“By Sunday night I felt nausea and in extreme pain.
“I got in touch with my eye specialist @sherazdaya @centreforsightuk and unfortunately he confirmed the black circle was a hole in my eye and the eye had perforated. This had always been a fear that it would happen.”
She went on to thanks her doctors for their knowledge and expertise, telling fans:
“Yesterday @sherazdaya sourced tissue for me and operated on me. I cannot thank him and his team enough, their knowledge and expertise but also how kind and caring they all are.
“There maybe some evil people in this world but there are also some pretty incredible people doing amazing things for people on a daily basis. Huge thank you team @sherazdaya @centreforsightuk You are the best!”
Katie’s friends rushed to the comments to wish her well, with Alexandra Burke writing: “Sending you love darling and positive healing energy xxx.”
While Gorka Marquez commented: “Sending you all the love.”
Loose Women co-star Jane Moore wrote: “Sending love and a big hug xx.”
Katie’s Twitter announcement came after she appeared on a recent episode of Loose Women, where she was the focus of the programme’s Life Before Loose segment, which follows each of the panellist’s journey’s before they started on the ITV show.
She ppened up on her life story, including when she was attacked with acid in 2008 by her then-boyfriend, who left her with major damage to her face and caused her to go blind in one eye, causing her to need pioneering surgery.
