The Chase's Paul Sinha forced to intervene with killer offer as he fumes at 'treachery'

The Chase turned tense on Wednesday (17 August) when Paul Sinha intervened to protect three players who had been hailed “the best team ever” by online fans.

Michael, Ross and Joel had successfully answered 25 questions correctly between them in their own cash-builder rounds, banking a whopping £25,000.

Next up was player Elizabeth, with viewers at home nervous she would take the lower offer to get a piece of the pie.

However, Paul also thought that Elizabeth could take this tact and ruin the hard work of the other players and instead decided to intervene with a “killer low offer”.

Paul takes action to prevent “treachery”

He said: “You’ll love this one, minus £9,000,” to which Elizabeth sneered as she toyed over the three offers which also included the middle ground of £3,000 and a top offer of £55,000.

The chaps who had already made it back for the final round encouraged their teammate to take the “middle offer”.

Paul told her: “I did it on purpose to stop any treachery from happening.”

Elizabeth sneered at the minus offer

Elizabeth agreed that accepting minus £9,000 would not have been fair to her co-stars who had all worked hard.

Taking the middle offer proved to be the wrong move for Elizabeth who failed to secure a place in the final.

This left the three lads, Michael, Ross and Joel ready to face the Sinnerman in an intense round.

The three chaps aced their questions

The threesome were off to a flying start as they blitzed through their questions answering a staggering 20 correctly.

Paul knew that he had some fierce competition ahead and considered himself the underdog while host Bradley argued that he felt the chaps needed “two more” correct answers.

During the Sinnerman’s round, he stumbled on five questions, leaving the game wide open for push-backs.

The team executed four out of a possible five push-backs which led to an epic win.

They all jumped for joy as Bradley explained they would receive an equal share of £25,000.
