BBC journalist Rachael Bland’s widower Steve Bland has married his girlfriend of three years following the passing of his late wife in 2018.
Steve who hails from Cheshire rose to fame after he began presenting the the popular podcast show You, Me and the Big C alongside Lauren Mahon and Deborah James after Rachael died from an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Steve met his current wife Amy, an advanced nurse practitioner while attending a cancer conference in Manchester in 2019.

The happy couple announced their engagement to fans in December 2021 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Cheshire on August 18.
Sharing a photograph of their special day on his Instagram account Steve also told fans that his son Freddie was the couple’s best man, adding: “What. A. Day. Our wedding day literally could not have been more perfect.”
He continued the post by saying: “All our favourite people in one place, so many smiles, so much laughter, loads of dancing and memories made, and a little too much kraken.
“I’ve got a lot of people to thank, chief among them my best men Freddie and @willjoewright, and one of my oldest buddies @davidhewaters for conducting the perfect ceremony.
“I’ve also got really good answers now if anyone wants recommendations for flowers, photography or video because @charlottehowardfloraldesign, @jesshazlehurstphotography and @blanketdigital were all amazing. As was the venue @owenhouseweddingbarn and all the staff there.”
He finished of the post by writing: “Finally, and most importantly, I have to thank my incredible wife @vercelli83, who looked so so beautiful!”
Amy also took a similar approach on her social media platform and wrote: “My husband and I had the most magical day yesterday. It truly surpassed all of our wildest dreams.

Steve’s late wife Rachael was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Her story moved thousands of people who hailed her dignity as she fought the terminal illness.
