Big Brother's Grace Adams-Short's new life years after 'watergate', 'moose' dig and boos

Grace Adams-Short was a Big Brother trailblazer – but she might not want to be reminded why.

The London-born blonde, who appeared in the show in 2006, was the first housemate whose stint was marred by venomous chants from the baying crowd outside calling for her to be voted out.

And when she was eventually evicted, it came as no surprise that she was loudly booed.

But it was all worth it because her decision to enter the house “for a laugh” changed her life forever in the most positive way imaginable – it’s where she met her husband and dad of their four kids.

Grace, a former dance teacher, was just 20 when she went on the show. She was evicted after four weeks.

Despite enjoying romance with her now hubby Mikey Dalton in the house, teaching him a few moves, she’s perhaps best remembered for her more controversial moments.

She was involved in a few heated rows with housemates, infamously telling Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace: “Oh shut up, Aisleyne, you moose,” and even throwing a glass of water on Suzie Verrico after being put up for eviction.

People might not have expected her relationship with Mikey to last, but they’re still going strong 16 years on. They got engaged four months after the show and tied the knot in October 2009.

Now 37, Grace has four children with Mikey and the family lives in his native Liverpool.

She has since stepped away from the spotlight, but shares snaps of their four children, home and family holidays on Instagram with her 30,000 followers.

Her blonde locks are still there and she is as gorgeous as she was when she appeared on the Channel 4 reality TV show.

She told the Sun she would not change her time on the show for anything.

“I absolutely loved every second of it from the audition rounds to all the amazing opportunities that came after the show,” she said.

“The highlight really was meeting my husband, the daddy of our munchkins.”

She added: “It was kind of like a holiday romance. We just enjoyed it really and everything we did since then has felt right for us.”

But in 2020 she admitted she finds it hard to watch back.

On the show’s 20th anniversary she wrote on Instagram: “I just want to say a huge thank you for all the lovely messages I’ve had about Mikey and I and our family.

“14 years ago at 20 years old I decided to go on Big Brother for a bit of fun for the summer I never thought i would of found my future husband!!

“Yes I was opinionated and had far too much to say (I don’t think this has really changed if you ask Mikey ) 3 kids later we are so close and happy and truly grateful for what we have.

Grace added: “I hope the re runs of the show has given everyone some light relief and good old fashioned reality tv during lockdown although I fully cringed last night watching the show and wish someone had introduced me to eyebrow tint and hair dye back then – something I’m well accustomed to now living In Liverpool.

“Just wanted to say thanks again xx @bbuk @mikeydaltonuk @e4grams #marriedlife #mumto3 #londongirlinliverpool.”

Following her appearance on the show, Grace, originally from London, was able to travel the world, buy properties in London and Liverpool, and even set up a performing arts academy.

But after having their third child, she took a step back on the business to concentrate on looking after the kids.

In an interview with OK! she said: “We’ve just been too busy! I set up a business, so the last 10 years were built on dealing with that and having kids.

“Then after our third child, we decided to take a step back from that so I could concentrate fully on being a mum.”

Grace and property developer Mikey welcomed their fourth child in January 2022.
