Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen has bemoaned the harsh impact of this summer’s heatwave and lack of water on her flock of sheep.
The 47-year-old posted a video and pictures of herself and her children on Instagram as they sheared their animals at Ravenseat Farm in north Yorkshire, which had been struggling in the recent heatwave.
In the caption, Amanda explained: “There’s only 15 need clipping. The fleeces are very dirty due to the heat and humidity over the past month.”

She added: “The lack of rain hasn’t rinsed the particles of grit and soil from the wool, making them even more itchy. Handled calmly, quietly and carefully. Then they can return to the moor.”
Normally, rain would permeate the animals’ wool and help to keep them clean and pain-free.
Wearing her work clothes, which consisted of a pair of black leggings and a white vest top, the star displayed her sheep shearing skills.
Fans backed the Our Yorkshire Farm star with supportive comments, with one saying: “You’re so working hard AMANDA. Lovely.”
Another commented: “You got this girl,” while a third added: “Doing a great job.”

It comes a month after Amanda, who is estranged from her husband Clive with whom she has nine children, left fans concerned after she shared an insight into a family “fail” at Ravenseat, after one of her brood, Reuben, appeared to have been left shaken after his tractor got stuck while trying to tow a Land Rover.
She captioned the pictures: “Horsepower of a different type required. A long walk & a late night for @reubenowen74 after a Land Rover tow fail.”
“A rescue mission gone wrong & now Mummy & brother Miles calling from bogged,” she added.
