Hollyoaks viewers were overcome with emotional during the latest visit to the village as love was in the Chester air.
Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea) and Shaq Qureshi (Omar Malik) were set to get married during Tuesday’s (August 23) first-look episode.
However, unbeknownst to the wedding guests, the bride-to-be had fallen in love with her neighbour, Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw), but has been struggling to come clean about her sexual orientation to her religious family.
Meanwhile, Shaq had unrequited feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Verity Hutchinson (Eva O’Hara), and admitted that he was in love with her the night before his wedding.

Despite this, Shaq and Nadira agreed to get married anyway to please their respective families and where hopeful they could still have a happy life.
However, at the altar Shaq and Nadira realised that they couldn’t go through with the wedding and Juliet took this as her que to announce to the crowd that she was in love with Nadira.
During Wednesday’s (August 24) first-look episode, Nadira initially denied Juliet’s claims in an attempt to save face in front of her family and Shaq coverd for her by admitting that the reason they called off the wedding is that he’s in love with someone else.
Nadira finally admitted the truth to her family and, surprisingly, her father is only ashamed that she didn’t feel she could confide in him sooner.
In a shocking twist, Zain Rizwaan (Jonas Khan) praised his girlfriend Misbah Malik (Harvey Virdi) on her strength and passion.
He ceased the day and propose, and with the encouragement of her family, she sayid yes and the wedding was back on with a different bride and groom.
Fans of the Channel 4 soap were left grabbing for the tissues as the tuned into the latest episode.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Woooh all of the emotions tonight!”
Another added: “As plot twists go, Zain proposing to Misbah is a pretty amazing one.”
A third person posted: “WHY AM I CRYING Misbah deserves the world”
While a fourth social media user said: “Wow this is unexpected so happy for Misbah she has been through so much.”
Over the past year, Misbah has been subjected to emotional torment when she was forced to face her abuser, Dr Ali Shahzard, and come to terms with the fact that she was raped years prior.
She’s also reconnected with her estranged son, Shaq, which led to her revealing to him the horrific truth behind how he was conceived.
Hollyoaksnow streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 followed by first-look episodes at 7pm on E4
