Ed Sheeran's neighbours 'record helicopter use' at £3.7m estate in bid to expose star

Ed Sheeran’s neighbours have reportedly been “counting the number of times he uses his helicopter” in a bid to expose the star for breaking planning laws.

The Bad Habits singer, 31, spends the majority of his time living in Suffolk with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two young daughters, Lyra and Jupiter.

The £3.7million estate – frequently referred to as “Sheeranville” – has previously come under fire from residents nearby.

In a fresh row, neighbours of the Shape of You hitmaker have targeted his private helipad.

The patch of land used by Ed to take off and land his helicopter is considered a “temporary” site, with local planning laws dictating it be used for no more than 28 days in one calendar year.

Should he exceed the 28-day limit, Ed would be required to seek official planning permission for a helipad on the site.

Such action would likely cost the crooner a hefty fee.

A source told The Sun: “Some of Ed’s neighbours have been counting the number of times he uses a chopper.

“He can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to his house.

“Some of them have kicked up a stink before about his plans and now they’re on helicopter watch.

“If Ed lands more than 28 times in a year he’ll have to get retrospective planning permission for the helipad.”

Ed’s “Sheeranville” estate boasts five houses, as well as a pub, football pitch, treehouse and wildlife pond.

In 2019, the pond sparked backlash among the estate’s neighbours who claimed it could be used as a swimming pool.

Over recent years, the singer has been granted permission to build a chapel on the site.

In January, Ed also applied for a crypt to be constructed on the chapel’s ground floor.
