Meghan Markle 'won't return to acting' despite moving to US for huge Netflix deal

Meghan Markle will not be returning to acting, according to one royal expert.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, made her on-screen debut in the hit US soap opera General Hospital, for which her now-estranged father Thomas Markle served as a lighting director.

She then made her way in the world of showbiz starring in the likes of the hit legal television series, Suits as well landing small roles in movies such as Horrible Bosses and Get Him to The Greek.

Although Meghan announced her retirement from acting in 2017 after she got engaged to Prince Harry, the couple later took a step away from royal duties, moved to the California and signed multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify.

But although rumours previously circulated about a potential return to the screen, royal expert Kinsey Schofield told the Daily Star the former actress would have already done so if she wished.

When asked if the Duchess is planning to back into showbiz, the To Di For Daily podcast host explained: “She’s got a big fat contract with Netflix. She could do whatever she wants with Netflix.”

She continued: “So why isn’t she producing? Why isn’t she starring in some passion project with Netflix, because she’s had two years to do that? So I am not of the team Meghan wants to go back into acting. “

Kinsey added: “I don’t think she’s gonna go back into acting. I mean, she’s had this Netflix deal and she’s had several years to do whatever she wanted to do with it. And and nothing’s come to fruition … if she wanted to be an actress, she’s had the opportunity to do that with her Netflix contract and her Netflix relationship. I don’t understand what the holdup is.”

However Kinsey later explained that Meghan could take inspiration from her career before she met Prince Harry as inspiration for future projects.

The Piers Morgan Uncensored commentator told The Daily Star “they’re in a really good place to create really compelling content”.

The commentator explained: “Those are really big cheques and all eyes are on them. I mean there’s just so many options.”

Kinsey explains that Meghan could explore options relating to her love of literature or even bring back her defunct lifestyle website The Tig in some form on screen.

The Fox & Friends contributor said: “The idea of her doing book reviews on on a podcast because she loves to read every time she does speak. She’s like, ‘Oh, I was just reading this’. And she talks to you about what she took away from that book. I mean, there are so many options for her.”

She continued: “Why can you not turn The Tig into a TV show? Like for Netflix? Why can’t you be in the kitchen with some of these chefs that created these recipes that you’re sharing on the Tig or talk to us about fashion, you know, sustainable fashion.”

The royal expert added: “She could turn content that we’ve seen her make before and that we know she’s passionate about, she can easily turn that into really compelling content.”
