Emmerdale fans distracted as they discover Eve's real age during her 'debut'

Emmerdale fans have been left baffled as they discovered Eve Dingle’s real age on Wednesday (September 7).

The daughter of Chas and Paddy Dingle appeared in the Hop during Wednesday’s episode, colouring in a picture as her mum popped to the bar to cosy up with Al Chapman.

Eve was left to her own devices as she wielded coloured pencils – but fans were more distracted by how much she’d grown since the last time she was seen on-screen as a baby.

Another echoed: “Wow!! Is that Eve? Can’t believe she’s grown up that fast! Last I saw her she was in the back of a car that was nearly run off the road by Jamie.”

“Bloody hell, Eve has got tall!” a third penned. While another viewer wrote: “Eve was only 6 months old 20 minutes ago!!”

Someone else giggled: “Wow I spot an Eve!!! Forgot she existed tbh.”

Chas left her daughter colouring at the table

Eve was born in October 2019, making her nearly three years old. In real life, she’s portrayed by twins Bonnie and Billy Clement, who both stand in for her when she appears on TV.

Eve was born after Chas and Paddy were forced to say an emotional goodbye to their first daughter Grace, culminating in a poignant episode with them creating a special place in the woods to honour their late daughter.

This week, Chas has been forced to tell her mum Faith that she can’t see her grandkids by herself any more as her health continues to decline, in case she has a seizure while looking after them.

Faith was distraught at the news, as she told her children: “It’s just another thing being taken away from me, and soon I’ll have nothing left.”

Spoilers have confirmed that Faith forgets who Cain is soon in tragic scenes, mistaking him for her late husband Shadrach and threatening him with a frying pan.

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV.
