Lizzie Cundy has spoken out following King Charles III’s first speech as Monarch following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
His Majesty paid tribute to his “beloved” mother just moments after the news of her devastating death was announced by a Buckingham Palace spokesperson.
The Queen died aged 96 at one of her favourite homes, Balmoral Castle, where she had been spending some time away from the spotlight as part of her summer holiday.

Charles, 73, shared his first statement as King, paying tribute to his “beloved Mother” as he honoured the “cherished Sovereign” who had reigned” over the Commonwealth and 15 countries for over 70 years.
Following Charles’ statement, Lizzie Cundy spoke exclusively to the Daily Star, praising the King for his sincere tribute.
The WAG said: “Incredibly moving and emotional words from our new King.
“Even at his most darkest hour, he thinks of his country and his people, before his own immense grief.”
She added: “We must all now come together as a nation and support our new King in this turbulent time.
“In unity, we will give him strength as he gives to us. God save the King!”
In full, Charles’ statement read: “The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.
“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.
“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.
“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”
His Majesty and Queen Camilla will remain at Balmoral overnight, before travelling to London on Friday, September 9.
The King will make a televised address to the country as well as the countries where he is King upon his arrival at Buckingham Palace.
Prime Minister Liz Truss and Clarence House confirmed Charles will be styled as His Majesty, King Charles III and will undertake a tour of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It’s expected that he will be officially declared King following a traditional announcement at St James’ Palace before plans for his coronation are put into place.
