Piers Morgan has divided the public with his reaction to King Charles III’s first national address.
Speaking to the nation, His Majesty the King pledged the rest of his life to the United Kingdom, while paying his respects to his late mother who passed away on September 8.
Taking to Twitter to react to King Charles’ national address, the TalkTV broadcaster penned a tweet which read: “That was a great speech by a good man. The Queen is dead… Long live The King!”

Quote retweeting Piers’ reaction, one person touched upon the “brutal” wording of the queen being “dead” when they penned: “Can’t say that, that’s someone’s mum.”
Another then echoed: “Her body’s still warm, show some class Pearce [Piers].”
“It truly was & I sincerely mean that with all my heart. But until the queen is laid to rest beside her dearly beloved Phillip whom she loved so dearly. I cannot sing GOD SAVE OUR KING it just seems wrong, knowing Phillip has got to be interned. All very sad,” added a third.
But many others overlooked the harsh reality of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s passing and agreed with Piers’ opinion on the new Monarch’s speech.
“It was the best speech of his life with sincerity and emotion about his dear mama. Tears rolling Long live the King,” penned one.
While a second sweetly added: “Amazing speech. The one thing we need is a lovely leader to look up to. We just got that.”
And a third wrote: “That was a kings speech of great bravery and the utmost courage! and how on earth he managed to keep himself composed I shall never know … huge respect to King Charles third on this incredibly hard day for him and the R.F Rest peacefully Elizabeth and Thank you.”
This comes after Piers’ sweet tribute to “the greatest Monarch in history” following the announcement of her death yesterday evening.
Taking to Twitter to announce the breaking news at 6:30pm on September 8, Piers paid tribute to the late Queen.
The former GMB anchor penned: “RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 96. The greatest Monarch in history, and the greatest of Britons.
“Dignified, humble, wise, stoic, and dedicated to duty & service to the country she loved. Thank you for everything, Ma’am. We will be forever indebted to you.”
