Rose Ayling-Ellis has reportedly fallen victim to the Strictly Come Dancing curse and split from her boyfriend – but some stars of the BBC show are “not surprised”.
Vanessa Feltz said she is “not one bit” shocked after hearing the pair went their separate ways after Rose stormed to the final to take the Glitterball with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
Earlier this month, Rose’s boyfriend Samuel Arnold reportedly grew close to one of her friends while Rose was away on tour, after the pair had been together for seven years.

A friend said at the time: “It’s very amicable and they’ll remain close friends, but unfortunately, there is no future for them romantically.
“They spent a lot of time apart while Rose was away on tour, which has had an impact.
“It’s been difficult for them both, of course, but they’re certain it’s the right move.”
And now Vanessa has admitted that the upheaval – which can often see stars spark up new romances with their dance partners – didn’t come as a shock.
She wrote to The Sun: “Picture the scene: One minute you’re lying in bed next to your boring old partner in your winceyette pyjamas, the next you’re spray-tanned, sprinkled with sequins and pressing against a gorgeous professional dancer with the body of an athlete.
“On top of all that, it’s hot, it’s sweaty and you’re spending hours together in the rather siege-like conditions the Strictly process imposes on you.”
She added: “Apparently, time spent apart while Rose, 27, was away on the Strictly tour in April took its toll on the relationship. Am I surprised? Not one bit.”
After her reported split, Rose met Giovanni’s family in Sicily at his sister Angela’s dance studio.

The pair could be seen wrapped around one another in a sweet snap, while Strictly judge Anton Du Beke also made an appearance on their social media.
They even scored a TV BAFTA for their stunning silence dance routine to Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s Symphony, which had fans in tears when it initially aired.
