Kat Slater and Phil Mitchell prepare to tie the knot in EastEnders tonight (September 14) – but will it go to plan?
As always in Albert Square, it seems highly unlikely, as Kat’s ex Alfie Moon makes a return that is set to shake things up for his ex-wife.
Will their wedding day go off without a hitch? Or will Kat stand Phil up at the alter?

While viewers wait to find out, Daily Star takes a closer look at Kat star Jessie Wallace’s love life away from the soap – which has been just as interesting as her on-screen character’s.
Andy Burton and Chris Osborn
Shortly after joining EastEnders, Jessie began dating American Andy Burton.
The couple had a brief romance, before it is reported that Andy sold his story to the media, according to OK! Magazine.
As such, Jessie subsequently ended their relationship.
Following her short lived romance with Andy, she was introduced to ex-boyfriend Chris Osborn by mutual friends at a party, with Chris telling The Sun that he was in awe of the star, saying: “The first time I met her, I was a bit starstruck.
“I knew she was a live wire from what I’d seen in the papers. I was also a big EastEnders fan.”
Jessie dated builder Chris for three months in 2006, but their romance did not last.
In the interview that took place after their break up, Chris compared Jessie to her on-screen counterpart Kat Slater, saying to The Sun: “Jessie used to get as p***ed as a pudding and in the end that was the thing that got in the way of us. Our relationship was 100mph.”
He added: “She went into full Kat Slater mode and yelled at me, ‘It’s the true ‘you’ coming out now, isn’t it?’ We never spoke again after that.
“Looking back at it, she probably needed a bit of help as she was drinking almost every day. It was mayhem going out with her.”
David Morgan
Jessie struck up an unexpected romance with policeman David Morgan in 2004, after he accompanied her to court when she was facing drink driving charges.
Their acquaintance turned into romance, with the couple welcoming a daughter together called Tallulah Lilac, who was born in 2004.
The couple became engaged, but had split by 2005, with David Morgan later entering the limelight on reality TV show The Farm.
Speaking about their relationship on the programme, he said: “I still love her and stuff, you know. I’d go back tomorrow if she said ‘go back.”
However, they both agreed not to disclose anything about their relationship, following an interview with David that was published in The News Of The World.
Vincent Morse
Following her split from David, Jessie then began dating catering manager Vincent Morse.
She and daughter Tallulah also moved into Vince’s house in Surrey, before the couple became engaged after just three months of dating.
They were due to be married at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond, in a lavish £300,000 ceremony, but the couple later called off their wedding days before the big day.
It is reported that Jessie split from Vincent, after she found out he had been texting his ex-partner.
Tim Arnold
Jessie dated musician Tim Arnold for more than four years between 2012 to 2016.
In an unusual coincidence, Tim already had a link to EastEnders, as his mother Polly Perkins played Dot Cotton’s half-sister Rosie in the soap.
Late Dot actress June Brown was also his godmother.
However, it is reported that Tim grew tired of living out their personal lives in the limelight, with the musician subsequently ending the relationship.
Speaking to The Mirror at the Jimi Hendrix At Home afterparty in Soho, Central London, on Tuesday night Arnold, said he wanted to distance himself from the limelight.
When asked how long it was since they had been a couple, he replied: “Oh, not for a long time.”
He also added: “People just want to know about the celebrities you know or have been with. I am tired of it.”
Paul Kempin
Two years after her split from Tim, Jessie was spotted out and about with Paul Kempin.
The father of five was spotted at the Amy Winehouse Gala at the Dorchester Hotel, London in 2018, sparking rumours of romance.
Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed: “Jessie and Paul were quite obviously a couple when they attended the event together.
“They were kissing throughout the night posed up for selfies to stick on social media.”
However, their romance sadly did not last, as Jessie split from Paul in 2019, with a source telling The Sun: “Jessie and Paul recently ended things and have cut contact with each other.
“She is moving on and wants the New Year to be a fresh start when she will focus on work.
“After a quiet Christmas with her daughter and her closest friends, she is knuckling down for 2020.”
Justin Gallwey
Earlier this year, Jessie’s romance with a childhood friend blossomed.
The EastEnders star has known Justin Gallwey since they were teenagers, but have since become a couple, embarking on a series of dates to upmarket restaurants and also, trips abroad.
They have even sparked rumours of marriage in recent weeks, despite having only been dating for two months.
The actress, 50, referred to Justin as “my hubby” in an Instagram post, which included a picture of the couple cuddling together in a pub.
Her followers believed the pair had secretly wed, with many quick to post congratulatory messages.
Her EastEnders co-stars Emma Barton and Natalie Cassidy left comments on the post, with Natalie writing: “You look so happy,” and Emma adding: “Gorgeous.”
Little Mo star Kacey Ainsworth also commented: “So happy for you both” with a string of heart emojis.
However, the star has not confirmed herself if she and Justin are married.
