Piers Morgan believes Prince Harry should be allowed to wear his military uniform to honour the Queen.
It was revealed that Harry had been banned from wearing his uniform during the period of mourning but Prince Andrew could wear his at the final vigil in Westminster Hall as a “special mark of respect.”
The controversial broadcaster, 57, wrote a column for The Sun and claimed that if a “disgraced” Andrew was allowed to wear his, then Harry is well within his right too.

The presenter made it clear that there are “rules” because only working royals are can wear uniforms, however Andrew stepped down from working royal duties following scrutiny over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

While Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step back from their roles as working royals in January 2020 before jetting off to the US.
Piers started his piece by saying: “I think his behaviour since quitting Britain and royal duty has been appallingly selfish, greedy, and damaging to the monarchy.
“But one thing I will never begrudge him is the right to be properly respected for his military service which included two tours of Afghanistan.

He added: “And I don’t think it’s right that he has been banned from wearing his uniform at events to commemorate the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Uncensored host went on to say that he thinks there are times when “such protocol and rules need to be torn up, and common sense applied,” adding that this is one of those times.
“Especially when Harry’s disgraced uncle Prince Andrew will apparently be permitted to wear HIS uniform at Her Majesty’s lying-in-state vigil which starts today,” he explained.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter said there won’t be “a single person in Britain outside of Andrew himself” who believes it is acceptable for him to be treated better than Harry.
He went on to say that it seems “outrageous” to him that Harry can’t wear his uniform and believes King Charles should have made the same exception for his son.
The former BGT judge said: “And putting aside all their differences, and all the ‘rules’, Charles should have extended the same dispensation to his son Harry.”
