Charlotte Crosby calls for 'normal people like Corrie's Fiz and Tyrone' on Love Island

Charlotte Crosby has had a pop at Love Island bosses for only picking toned contestants.

The Geordie Shore babe wants to see more body diversity on the ITV2 show.

Charlotte told the Daily Star on Sunday: “Love Island would be better if they had different kinds of people, 100%.

“The beauty standards on TV now are f**ed.

“I want to see people who are like Fiz and Tyrone on Corrie.

“I want normal people off the street who genuinely fall in love with each other. That would be so cute to watch.”

Charlotte found fame on Geordie Shore 11 years ago and became one of TV’s most popular stars.

But she reckons the producers on Love Island would never have given her a chance.

She went on: “If us lot from Geordie Shore had auditioned for Love Island instead, there wouldn’t be a chance in hell we would get on it.

“When we first started we were just a bunch of normal girls, and that’s why everyone loved us.

“They were thinking, ‘I do that… that’s what I do on a night out’. We were real people.”

Charlotte has headed back to Geordie Shore for a new reunion series and even offered an olive branch to her ex-boyfriend Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle.

In upcoming scenes, Charlotte writes a text to Gaz saying she has something to tell him as she hopes to get him on board with the reunion.

Speaking to Daily Star ahead of the show, Charlotte said she was “really nervous”, when writing the text up.

After hearing that fans will likely be on the edge of their seats as Charlotte debates whether to send the text, she teased that things could get intense on air as she added: “Wait ’til you see the reply!”

The TV favourite said that things will be wrapped up between the stars as she added: “Everything people loved about Geordie Shore was obviously more than just seeing us drunk in clubs.

“People loved the personalities within the show and actually in the reunion I feel like everything that happened within the show that fans love got finalised and tied together. It made it even better.

“You don’t need to be mortal drunk to sort out some differences with people and have a resolution.”

Fans can expect to see many of the TV favourites, but some have been left unconfirmed – and some needed a little extra reassurance to return.

Geordie Shore: The Reunion premieres on 20th October at 10pm on Paramount+ UK and MTV.
