Kaye Adams addresses Strictly rivalry between Loose Women stars and brutal warning

Kaye Adams has finally shut down the notion that there’s a heated rivalry between Loose Women stars who have starred on Strictly.

The Loose Women presenter has just started training for her upcoming stint in the BBC ballroom, where she’ll be forced to demonstrate her dancing chops in front of the judges.

But she’s certainly not the first Loose Women panelist to star on Strictly, given she’s following in the footsteps of her co-stars like Frankie Bridge, Judi Love and Ruth Langsford.

It might lead some fans to wonder if there’s any underlying rivalry brewing beneath the Loose Women desk, with the stars trying their best to outdo their peers and get further in the competition.

Kaye spoke exclusively to Daily Star’s Sam Huntley and other press before the first live show, where she insisted it’s not about competition.

In fact, she admitted she can’t even remember how far her Loose Women pals have gone in the programme before.

Asked about rivalry, she said: “It’s funny you say that, because I think nine Loose Women have done it and I couldn’t tell you how far [they’ve gotten]. I know Frankie did really, really well. She got to the final, but that’s really not something that we’ve ever discussed.”

Former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge reached the final of the twelfth series with show pro Kevin Clifton in 2014, but lost out to late Love Island host Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev.

Kaye later explained that the gang talk about whether or not they’re enjoying their time on the show rather than how many points they’re racking up.

Kaye continued: “I mean the real thing is ‘did you enjoy it?’ or ‘did you not enjoy it?’.

“Judi had a bit of a tough time with Covid and stuff like that but she loved every minute of it, and so that’s a win.”

However, even though they might not get fiercely competitive with one another, it seems the Loose Women aren’t afraid to offer brutally honest advice to each other.

Speaking about Ruth and Judi’s support for her with the show, Kaye said: “They’ve been amazing. They really have, because they both loved it. They both absolutely loved it, and so their enthusiasm is really infectious.”

But she added: “I mean they basically said to me ‘don’t screw it up, go in, give it everything and enjoy it.”
