Tipping Point fans rush to complain as they slam show's 'poor' mystery prize

Tipping Point might be one of the most popular game shows on British TV, but it didn’t stop fans blasting the show’s prizes.

ITV viewers rushed to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon (September 21) when contestant Foluke was gifted a controversial mystery prize in the first round.

Foluke had been battling it out in the studio with fellow players Adam and Mo when she bagged the mystery prize coin and host Ben Shephard announced she’d won a glamping holiday.

The trip included three nights in an Atlantic Surf Pod – which are eco-pods in Bude on the North Cornish coast.

But it’s fair to say fans felt the player had won a rather disappointing prize for her efforts on the notoriously tough Tipping Point machine.

It didn’t take long for them to flock to Twitter to roast the gift during the episode.

One fan on Twitter wrote: “Very poor mystery prize for a change”, whilst a second fumed: “3 NIGHTS IN A BL**DY SHED!”

A third quipped: “mystery prize for Foluke – glamping with Ben”

Another sarcastically agreed: “wow..glamping”

Sadly for Foluke, she was eliminated after Mo with £1200, just behind Adam who had bagged himself £1450 and proceeded to the final.

It was a tense affair for the Welshman as he battled it out on the machine, racking up £3600 in the closing minutes.

Ben offered him the choice of trading in his money for the chance to win £10k via the jackpot counter, but he decided to play it safe and take home the money he’d already won.

He was gutted when Ben revealed he would have won the £10k had he risked it all in the hypothetical scenario, but the pair agreed Adam had made the right choice.
