Ian Brown fans furiously walk out of 'c**p karaoke' gig as he performs without band

Ian Brown has been slammed by fans after turning up to the first night of his UK tour without a band and performing “bad karaoke”.

The Stone Roses legend, 59, took to the stage on Sunday night (September 25) for a sellout gig in Leeds but quickly left concertgoers disgruntled.

After shelling out £40 for a ticket, fans were dismayed to see the vocalist appear alone on stage.

Playing the gig unaccompanied by any supporting performers or instruments, fans accused the rocker of “butchering” his hit songs – with many subsequently walking out.

Posting to Twitter after the gig, “gutted” fans slammed Ian’s “c**p” performance.

One annoyed attendee wrote: “Gutted to see @ianbrown turn up to his £40 a ticket, sold out gig at Leeds tonight WITH NO BAND.

“I’m a life long fan but it was bad. #ianbrown does karaoke and butchers his own tunes.

“Most were too pissed to care but I had to get out after this one.”

Another fan added: “Normally you wake up buzzing morning after seeing one of your favourite artists, I may as well gone to a karaoke night last night and saved some brass.”

Meanwhile, a third said: “Funniest gig I’ve ever been to.”

A fourth complained: “Man what can you say about @ianbrown tonight. He was c**p.

“No band in support and so it ended up as [karaoke].”

Ian’s solo 10-date UK tour resumes at the O2 Academy in Glasgow this evening (September 26).

In 2016, Ian avoided a driving ban after judges ruled he could keep his license in order to take his elderly mother shopping.

The I Am Ressurection rocker received the maximum 12 penalty points on his license after being caught speeding in a 30mph zone.

Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher thrilled fans by teasing a collaboration with The Stone Roses guitarist John Squire.
