Amanda Owen says Clive was left 'raging' with her and asked 'why she wasn't normal'

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband and recalled a moment he was left “raging”.

In her book Celebrating the Seasons, Amanda, , otherwise known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, wrote about how, back in 2019, she decided to run a fell race.

However, the Owen family matriarch was afraid of failure in front of everyone there, so she took matters into her own hands.

Amanda decided to run the course a night before the race was due to take place and she admitted that Clive stood on a pile of rocks in the middle of a river, trying to look for his wife as he was worried.

She had taken so long that he had become concerned for her safety to went to investigate, which backfired after Clive lost his balance and fell into the river.

Amanda has written and published many books

Amanda explained: “To say he was raging was an understatement.”

He then later on asked his now ex-wife “why she can’t just be bl**** normal”.

The Owens have nine children and have been together for 22 years, but sadly the pair recently announced that they were going their separate ways.

The couple split after 22 years

The 48-year-old star announced the unfortunate news back in June and since then, the Owens have been focussed on keeping life a normal as can be for their kids.

They share six-year-old Nancy, seven-year-old Clemmie, nine-year-old Annas, ten-year-old Sidney, 12-year-old Violet, 14-year-old Edith, 16-year-old Miles, 18-year-old Reuben and 21-year-old Raven.

Amanda recently appeared on ITV’s Lorraine and discussed the split with the show’s host Lorraine Kelly and confessed that the split had been tough on the family, particularly with camera crew around while filming for Our Yorkshire Farm.

Clive was furious with her

The Shepherdess admitted: “It is really tough and it is a really difficult aspect of it to get across, but when you do reality [TV] it has to be just that. That means it covers the ups and downs, and that can be on any level.”

She also recently spoke to The Telegraph about their breakup and had a lot to say about the transition into single life.

She said: “Keeping our split a secret was like living in a pressure cooker.”
