GMB’s Martin Lewis takes brutal dig at Maisie Smith after Celeb SAS appearance

Good Morning Britain host Martin Lewis took a savage swipe at Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Maisie Smith as the series nears the grand final.

During Monday’s visit to the ITV studios, the financial expert welcomed viewers back to the show alongside his beloved co-host Susanna Reid to discuss the latest headlines in the news.

One of the biggest stories on everyone’s lips was the ongoing cost-of-living crisis as the broadcaster did his best to answer viewers questions on how to cut the prices of their bills on air.

In between tense chats on the show, the pair teased an upcoming appearance ex-EastEnders star Maisie Smith and Susanna’s former Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton.

Ahead of their appearance on the beloved morning show, the TV host confessed that he couldn’t understand why the fiery redhead would compete on the gruelling Channel 4 series.

As the 51-year-old broadcaster revealed the actress received two black eyes while competing in a gruelling challenge on the show, he said: “I love that programme but why, why would you do it?”

Over the series, the celebrity contestants have faced a slew of injuries including broken ribs and a fractured ligaments but that didn’t stop them from taking part on the show.

Former athlete, 61, Fatima Whitbread revealed that she fought through “unbearable” pain after she broke three ribs during a task on the show but decided to keep quiet about her injury.

The sportswoman – who is the oldest contestant to ever appear on the brutal show – told The Mirror how she fought through the pain on the show.

She said: “I can’t tell you the unbearable pain I was going through. Even picking up my backpack was really hard.

“I knew I was being a pain to some of them asking them to help me on with my backpack where normally I’d just yank it up with one arm.

“But I couldn’t even do that thanks to three cracked ribs. As the days went by, the pain got worse. I couldn’t lay down properly or sit up properly.

“And it was just … moving about trying to get dressed, awful. Absolutely awful.”
