Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams has been a part of the show since the late 90s and is a consistent and beloved ITV star.
The presenter was also part of BBC’s 2022 lineup for the broadcaster’s famed dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing, but was the first to be eliminated.
However, there have been a few controversial moments throughout Kaye’s career despite her usually polite nature.

From going on a social media rant and claiming she felt like a “hostage” to lying about her own age, there have been a few hiccups from the Loose Women legend.
Take a deep dive into the moments when Adams made some “mistakes” throughout her career.
Train Rant
Back in 2021, Loose Women star Kaye Adams took to Twitter to share her frustration over a train delay.
Adams was set to take a journey on a Caledonian Sleeper train which was three hours late.
To make matters worse, there were no staff members to explain to Kaye what was happening.
The furious presenter had been travelling all the way from Scotland to London so that she could appear on Loose Women, but due to the delays she admitted she probably wouldn’t make it to the studio on time.
She was absolutely raging and vented to her 80,000 followers about the inconvenience.
She said: “On a train somewhere outside London, no idea where, three hours late on an eight hour journey and I’m trying to say to myself: ‘Kaye, calm down. Come on, these things happen. They’ve obviously had a little accident during the night,’ then I think to myself: ‘Are you sh***ing me?’”
Kaye continued: “This is extortionate, this is a commercial company three hours late on an eight hour trip. No! It’s sh**e!”
The Loose Women host added another video, tagged the service and said: “I literally feel like I have been taken hostage by a train company. We’re stuck at the station, there’s nobody telling us p*** all. We are two or three hours late, I have lost count and that’s it. There’s nobody to be seen.”
Kaye later admitted that she was “sorry,” had acted like a “brat” and was “still kicking herself” for “losing her rag” at the company.
Lied about her age
Kaye has been branded a “victim of her own ageism” – by herself.
The Loose Women star admitted that she had “lied about her age” as a defence mechanism due to her fears of ageing.
The Strictly contestant spoke on her podcast How To Be 60 and claimed she doesn’t want to be defined by her age.
She explained that while rehearsing for Strictly, she was “making digs at herself” and “couldn’t bare the thought of wearing a red dress” as she thought she would look like “some sort of vamp”.
Kaye continued: “I thought to myself: ‘What is this self-loathing that I have gotten into?’ I don’t know why I have been apologising for living until this age. I’ve lied about my age all these years because I don’t want to be defined by it. Actually though, I am guilty of enforcing that negative connotation and I’m a victim of my own ageism.”
Branded “too miserable”
While presenting ITV’s Loose Women, Kaye admitted that a former boss had called her “too miserable” and was even taken off air due to her attitude.
The Scottish TV star has been part of the Loose Women lineup since it began airing in 1999 but during one episode she opened up about the past insult.
She explained the criticism she had received in years prior: “I remember an occasion […] when I was starting out in news reading and it was a big deal for me. I was young and the boss took me in one night and basically took me off air and said: ‘You’re too bl**** miserable’.”
Kaye then said that he had told her to “smile more” and “put some blusher on” which shocked the Loose Women panel.
Nadia Sawalha asked whether he “gave her a chance” and that his comment was “too brutal,” claiming that “feedback is about giving people constructive criticism” so that they can “hopefully improve and do better”.
However, Kaye saw the funny side and admitted she thought he had “done the right thing,” before she quipped: “Here I am 30 years later, grinning like a Cheshire cat.”
