BBC Breakfast hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent reflected on their co-star Bill Turnbull after his favourite football club shared a touching tribute to the star.
The presenting pair recalled that the 66-year-old loved Wycombe Wanderers Football Club and showed audiences how the club honoured him during a recent match.
Bill’s wife and children were in attendance, both to remember their beloved husband and father and also to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

Bill died on 31 August after a long battle with the disease and is sorely missed by friends, family and colleagues.
Jon and Sally noted how he “loved” football after they discussed the weekend’s sport news.

Sally sweetly said: “I have to say, one person who would have really enjoyed that game yesterday is our mate. The late great Bill Turnbull, former resident of this sofa. Massive Wycombe Wanderers fan, they were the club that were in his heart.”
She then cheekily retorted: “Secretly quite liked Manchester City too, occasionally! They were his other team.”
Jon asked whether Bill had ever “said it out loud,” to which Sally responded that he “did once or twice”.
She continued: “Yeah, he loved Wycombe Wanderers. In fact, he did, on occasion, do match commentary for them.”

Jon noted that “he did” and he “loved doing it,” before he told viewers that he had “sadly died of cancer” back in August.
He explained that his “beloved club” have given their “own special tribute to him” and cut to the location for a report.
Footage saw Bill’s favourite team as while Bill’s family stood at the sideline and made an announcement with clips of the late BBC star talking about the club was shown.

Experts then spoke about how Bill’s openness with his prostate cancer had inevitably “saved lives” before Sally commented that it was “lovely to see”.
Nugent continued on and said that “no-one could get away with it like Bill could,” commenting on his “type of commentary” which “everybody loved him for” as he was a “fan with a microphone”.
Jon stated that Bill “loved that club,” and Sally responded that “they loved him” and followed it up by saying that it was “fantastic to see everybody at Wycombe over the weekend”.
