BBC Strictly fans fume over fresh 'fix' row as Fleur East forced to fight for spot

Strictly Come Dancing fans have branded the BBC One show a “fix” after Fleur East ended up in the bottom two.

Performer Fleur danced the American Smooth to Little Mermaid’s Part Of Your World with her partner Vito Coppola and after impressive improvements, she scored 29 out of a possible 40 from the judges.

Although she wasn’t at the top of the leader board, she did find herself smack bang in the middle, but sadly the votes from the judges were not quite enough to keep her safe.

It was confirmed on Sunday night’s show that Fleur would be in the dance off to fight for her place in the competition, with Fleur adding she was incredibly nervous to be in the dance off.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood told her that he was utterly shocked to see her in the dance off and encouraged the star that she will be “great”.

And he wasn’t the only one who was shocked – with viewers taking to Twitter to share their fury.

One user wrote: “Wtf Fleur and Vito! I rest my point about it being a fix #Strictly.”

Another said: “I’m sorry but how is Matt Goss safe? It’s a fix.”

A third said: “Why on earth are Fleur and Vito in the bottom?? They were brilliant. Fleur is a fricking amazing dancer. I’m both baffled and annoyed. What is wrong with people out there voting?”

A fourth chirped: “Fleur vs. the Richie. Is this a punishment for something? Ridiculous results #strictly.”

Fleur was placed in the bottom two alongside Richie Anderson who is paired up with Giovanni Pernice.

Ultimately Richie was the star who was sent home from the competition as judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all voted to save Fleur.

Tess Daly confirmed that the final say would go to Shirley Ballas had the judges come to a draw, and she confessed that her choice would have gone in favour of Richie.

However Fleur won over the judges by a landslide so she will be able to perform in next week’s show alongside her fellow contestants.

Strictly returns Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC One.
