Coronation Street actor Alex Bain has recently announced his engagement with his stunning fiancee Mollie Lockwood.
Alex joined the soap as a youngster and Corrie audiences have seen him grow up in front of their very eyes, but away from the soap he has already achieved many big milestones.
He welcomed his daughter when he was just a teenager and now the 20-year-old is planning a wedding with his beautiful bride.

The pair met and bonded over a mutual interest and seem to have hit it off – so much so that they are planning on spending the rest of their lives together.
Social media exploded with the news as Corrie fans shared in their excitement for the actor and his wife-to-be.
In celebration of their engagement, take a deep dive into their relationship and keep reading to learn how they met, their love for each other and their very unexpected “secret” engagement.
How they met
Alex and Mollie began dating in 2020 and they met through Alex’s second job as a choreographer.
Mollie is also a dancer, so the duo seem like the perfect pair – as captured by the many snaps they love to post on social media.
They’ve shared countless loved-up snaps on Instagram and often gush over each other in the captions, saying how “grateful they are to have each other in their lives”, that they “miss each other when they aren’t together” and that they “love each other so much”.
Alex even took to the comments on one of Mollie’s snaps and declared that he is “so glad she is his” as he has “never been happier”.
Secret engagement
Alex announced the couple’s engagement and revealed that he had finally asked his girlfriend Mollie Lockwood to take his hand in marriage.
The couple spoke to OK! magazine about their union and admitted that they have been secretly engaged for an entire year.
Alex proposed to her in October during a romantic date night and only told their loved ones two months later at Christmas time.
Alex gushed over his new fiancée: “I can’t spend my life with anyone else.”
Mollie also explained why they decided to keep their engagement under wraps: “We wanted to enjoy that special time together, just the two of us, for a while.”
Alex admitted that if he “didn’t do it then”, he would “keep getting more and more nervous” although he was “pretty certain she would say yes”.
Alex’s daughter
Alex became a first time father at 17 years old with his ex-girlfriend Levi Selby, who was 16 years old at the time.
The pair welcomed their beautiful daughter Lydia-Rose when they were just teenagers and a source spoke to The Sun about the new arrival.
They said: “They were over the moon at the birth of their baby girl and were really happy together, but they’ve been through a lot together and they’re both still young.”
The pair eventually called it quits but Alex has dedicated himself to his daughter.
He credited her and his Corrie role for “saving him from dark times” and said: “If I didn’t stick at the job that I’m in now, I would have been lost. Corrie has kept me going and especially having a daughter has kept me going. It gives me something to do.”
The soap star’s efforts have been widely recognised as he has received a Best Young Soap Performance award twice.
Alex’s life
Alex stepped onto Corrie’s cobbled streets at just seven years old back in 2008 when he landed the role of Simon Barlow, the son of Peter Barlow and Lucy Richards, later adopted by Leanne Battersby.
The actor replaced former twin actors Jake and Oscar Hartley who used to play Simon together.
Alex’s career began in a Rice Krispies advert and later landed his breakout role in BBC’s Sunshine, alongside comedy genius Steve Coogan.
He recently celebrated his 20th birthday and took to Instagram to tell his followers that he “couldn’t believe where the time has gone”.
Along with his career and fiancee Mollie, Alex loves nothing more than fatherhood as previously admitted to Inside Soap.
However, he has not had a smooth run and as a young, single father in the spotlight, Alex has been subject to online trolling over his parenting skills.
He took to his Instagram story to defend himself and urged people who “don’t like the way he has raised Lydia-Rose” to “DM him so they can talk about it”, as he’s “had enough”.
