Corrie's Millie Gibson speaks out after sweary outburst during co-star's win at NTAs

Coronation Street star Millie Gibson has broken her silence about her x-rated outburst after co star Paddy Bever won a gong at National Television Awards on Thursday night (October 13).

After Paddy picked up the Rising Star award for his performances as Max Turner, the Kelly Neelan actress was caught on camera swearing as she celebrated the win.

Millie, 18, took to Instagram to address the moment, saying: “That proud that I didn’t drop the f bomb at all.”

After picking up his award, Paddy, who plays Max Turner, posted a selfie on Instagram showing him looking teary at the awards.

Viewers then rushed to the comment section to shower him with compliments.

One said: “@itvcorrie well deserved, seems such a lovely lad #NTA”.

Another wrote: “Aww! He thanked God! That’s cute. Bet he’s the first in a long time to do that. [prayer emoji] #ntas #NTAAwards #NTA.”

Fellow Corrie star also sang the actor’s praises.

Jack James Ryan, who plays Jacob Hay, said: “Crying those big boy tears. I share a dressing room with an NTA winner!?!?!? What a moment for our Pads, love or hat ‘Max’ as a character it’s undeniable the amount of hard work and dedication this lad puts into his cratt to bring this character to screen.

Abi Webster actress Sally Carman added: “Amaaaaaaazing,” while ex-Corrie actress Kel Allen (Laura Neelan) said: “Our rising star has risen!!! Well done our Paddy! We’re all so super proud of you and rightly deserved.”

The ITV actor was up against Kit Connor and Joe Locke from the Netflix series Heartstopper as well as Charithra Chandran from the beloved series Bridgerton who were also in the running for the gilded award.

After being told he had won the award Paddy rushed up to the stage with shock painted across his face.

In an emotional speech the TV hunk confessed he “hadn’t prepared a speech” because he didn’t think he would be able to beat the other talented stars nominated for the award.

The teenager went on to reveal that his role as David Platt’s stepson Max Turner is his “first ever acting job” as he thanked the cast, crew, family and friends for helping him get so far.
