What does Peter Crouch do now? His TV career and life after 'cheating' allegations

Peter Crouch established himself as a British footballing legend in a career that spanned nearly two decades.

The striker made his professional debut in 2000 for Queens Park Rangers but went on to play for nine clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke.

In 2005 he also joined the England national team, playing a total of 42 times for the Three Lions and scoring a total of 22 goals.

But in 2019 Crouch retired from his footballing career at the age of 38. However, he’s since been kept busy with a successful TV career and growing family.

Here’s what Peter Crouch does now as well as his life with his wife after cheating allegations rocked their relationship.

Like many retired footballers Peter Crouch went on to become a pundit, working for BT Sport and Amazon Prime.

But the former England striker has also appeared on TV many other times.

In 2020 he worked alongside Maya Jama and Alex Horne on the BBC panel game show Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer and the following year he presented Peter Crouch: Save Our Beautiful Game, which saw him return to Dulwich Hamlet FC to help the fan-run club recover from the pandemic.

This year he’s also joined the ITV competition The Masked Dancer as a panellist.

As well as his TV career, Crouch also hosts That Peter Crouch Podcast for BBC Radio 5 Live.

Who is Peter Crouch’s wife?

As well as establishing his TV career, Peter Crouch has continued to spend time with his wife, lingerie and catwalk model Abbey Clancy, who he’s been married to for over a decade now.

Abbey is also a TV personality, rising to fame after appearing on the 2006 series of Britain’s Next Top Model, which she finished as runner-up in.

In 2013 she also won the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing and went on to present Britain’s Next Top Model from 2015 to 2017.

Crouch and Clancy met in 2006 at a bar in Liverpool, opening up about how they first met on The Chris Moyles Show, Peter revealed Abbey told him off for talking to another woman after meeting her.

He said: “We got on fantastically well. She gave me her number – amazingly – she went away, and I just carried on with my evening, and I should have known then, but I was talking to someone else who was also female.

“She came over and said ‘Look at you! Who do you think you are?’ as if we were married already.

“She went mental! And I was like ‘I’m only talking’. I should have known then!”

Abbey has also spoken about how they first crossed paths, telling Closer Magazine: “I saw Pete and I knew he was the one for me, I knew he’d be my boyfriend.”

They have been married since 2011 and now have four children together, Sophia, Liberty, Jack and Johnny.

Their youngest child, Jack, was born the same year that Peter retired in 2019.

Although their marriage seems to have held strong over the year, Peter and Abbey experienced a rocky patch in their relationship back in 2010 when Crouch was accused of cheating on Abbey with a prostitute.

Nineteen-year-old Monica Mint claimed that Crouch paid her for liaisons while he was on a stag weekend in Madrid.

Abbey was pregnant with their first child at the time and in 2014 she opened up about the impact the cheating rumours had on her, saying: “It was horrendous. For any woman who is pregnant or had a baby, it’s tough.”

But she also revealed that she and Peter had decided to put the claims behind them, describing it as “one of those things” and adding: “He’s my best friend. He makes me laugh – he’s kind, generous and the most incredible dad. I’m so proud of him.”

They went on to get married just a few months after the birth of their first daughter in 2011.

It’s also been reported that since the cheating allegations, Abbey has taken charge in the relationship with a source telling The Sun: “Abbey Clancy forgave Peter Crouch too after claims he slept with a prostitute in Madrid. But she firmly wears the trousers in their relationship now.

“She loves going on holiday and having a lovely time, a drink, partying . . . while he looks after the kids!”

Peter Crouch: Save Our Beautiful Game is airing on Quest at 9pm.
