“She wasn’t drunk, she was at work. She was surrounded by friends and family. I think it shows how far some people are willing to go and that you have to be so vigilant.”
Lily added: “There is a responsibility from places who service alcohol to watch for these things and put things in place to make sure it I doesn’t happen and that people are safe.”
Talking about how the harrowing experience will effect Lizzie, she said: “It’s interesting because Lizzie normally bounces back and she goes ‘come on let’s get it together’ and she does try to do that but she finds it so hard.
“It’s the first time you see her wobble and see her go ‘oh I don’t think I can do this yet’.”
Lily went on to say: “You see the long term effects that something like that can have and how vulnerable she becomes. She does get back to it but it stays with her after.”
The soap star has been playing the Chen-Williams family member for nearly a year on the Channel 4 soap and also spoke about what her dream storyline would be.
“I keep being like I want a baby!,” Lily exclaimed before adding: “But I’ve always wanted to be a landlady of some kind and run a pub. I’d love to do that.”
Matthew James-Bailey who plays Ethan Williams on Hollyoaks also spoke to Daily Star about his upcoming romance with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).
He said: “The chemistry is really great, things get pretty fiery, pretty romantic, pretty daring. A lot of exciting stuff coming up.”
