To celebrate the BBC turning 100, James and Amy will be dancing to the EastEnders theme song – but not as we know it, apparently.

Paying homage to the soap that James stars in and portrays Martin Fowler, the dancing couple announced that they will be foxtrotting to the iconic tune.

James sat down with Ranvir and revealed some exciting news

Walking on set to the EastEnders’ theme song, James and Amy beamed as they sat down.

Ranvir asked the pair about what was so special about this week before James revealed that all the dances would be based on iconic theme songs from different BBC shows over the years.

Revealing that they would be foxtrotting to the EastEnders tune, Amy admitted that it has “never been done before” and it an “honour” to choreograph a dance to it.

James admitted that he feels slightly nervous for Saturday night, adding: “Honestly, I can’t tell you how honoured I am to be representing EastEnders in such an iconic year.”

He then hinted at “some tricks” and how the theme song “isn’t the normal EastEnders theme tune that everyone will expect”.

“There’s some surprises along the way,” he went on, and later added that he thinks it will be a “really big night”.

James then revealed some sweet advice from Rose Ayling-Ellis

James also touched on the advice that his former colleague and Strictly reigning champion gave him at the National Television Awards earlier this month.

Rose told James to “enjoy ever second because it goes so quickly” and how even though she won, the experience still flew past.

He then said that she told him: “Just enjoy everything and even when it’s tough and you’re having bad days [still enjoy everything].”

Strictly Come Dancing will continue on Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer.
