Friends star Matthew Perry, 53, confessed that his co-star Jennifer Aniston confronted him about his drinking problem.
The actor candidly shared the details about his alcoholism during the trailer for his upcoming ABC News interview with Diane Sawyer.
In the teaser, Matt opened up about substance abuse during his rise to fame and confessed that Jennifer addressed the situation to him one day on the set of Friends.

He remembered Jennifer approaced him, where she bluntly revealed to the actor that she and the rest of the cast “know you’re drinking.”‘
Matthew – who is now sober – told Diane: “Imagine how scary a moment that was.”
“[Jennifer] was the one that reached out the most,” he revealed.
“I’m really grateful to her for that.”
Opening up about his substance abuse, he told Diane: “At the time I should have been the toast of the town, I was in a dark room meeting nothing but drug dealers and completely alone.”
The actor – who played Chandler in the hit sitcom – detailed how his drug and alcohol addiction left him with a 2% chance of survival.
During his interview, Matthew spoke about his decades-long battle to rid himself of the disease of addiction.
He revealed that he had had 14 surgeries on his stomach and had to use a colostomy bag for nine months.
He confessed: “The doctors told my family that I had a two percent chance to live.
“I was put on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and your lungs. And that’s called a Hail Mary. No one survives that.”
The actor said his alcohol addiction began when he was 24 while starring on Friends, adding that he was “entrenched in a lot of trouble” by age 34.
He said that his co-stars on Friends “were understanding” and “patient.”
