Rose Ayling-Ellis' special Strictly advice revealed by her former EastEnders co-star

Rose Ayling-Ellis has shared heart-warming advice to her former EastEnders co-star James Bye as he competes in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside Amy Dowden.

The 27 year old, who won the competition last year alongside professional dancer Giovanni Pernice offered her best tips to help the actor remain another week in the show.

While appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, James, 38, spoke fondly of Rose while giving details of a conversation they previously had.

He said: “Rose’s advice to me from the beginning is enjoy every second as it goes so quickly, even for her doing the whole thing and winning it.

“Don’t waste any moment, just enjoy everything. Even when it’s tough and you’re having bad days.”

Meanwhile fellow EastEnders star Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter in the BBC soap, told James that the “nerves never go away”.

James, who took on the role of Martin Fowler in 2014 will be performing the Foxtrot to EastEnders’ famous theme tune on Saturday (October 22) to mark 100 years of the BBC.

Sharing his thoughts on the routine and the choice of music, James expressed: “I can’t tell you how honoured I am to be representing EastEnders in such an iconic year.

“Doing something that’s never been done on Strictly before. When (Amy) got told it was EastEnders, we both looked at each other and went, ‘How are we going to dance to it?’

“It’s not quite the normal EastEnders theme tune everyone is going to expect. (There will be) some surprises along the way. A really big night, not just for us but (my other competitors).”

While talking to Radio Times about his dance, James also said: “I think Amy [Dowden, dance partner] has choreographed it so there’s a story that runs through the whole thing and it’s great. I think this could be, if we get it right.

“It could be a really good week for us. This is something that the audience hasn’t seen from us yet.”

Despite his turbulent start in the competition, last week James blew judges and viewers at home away with his routine and scored an impressive 32 points.

James and Amy’s score landed them in joint fifth place with Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima.
