Judi Dench's £8million mansion is 'collapsing' and overrun with mouse infestation

Dame Judi Dench has revealed that furry squatters have taken over her £8million Surrey mansion.

The Hollywood star and Oscar winner, who starred in the live-action musical Cats, said she has an infestation of mice, who have taken over her home.

Despite being worth an estimated £37m, Dame Judi also revealed how the property, built in 1470, was also collapsing.

The Bond icon, 87 has opened up about her house woes as she said: “My house is falling down a bit here and there.

“The mice have moved in since lockdown and I’m battling the mice. They have moved in and taken over a bit.”

Judi has opened up about the problems she is facing with her Surrey mansion

Judi has lived in the picturesque farmhouse in Outwood, Surrey, for many years and has grown very fond of it.

The property also comes with a separate cottage, a swimming pool, workshops, barns, a pond and is believed to be 7,000 square-feet in size.

But despite her unwanted guests she still praised where she lived, adding: “The garden is simply wonderful.”

The star has been faced with an infestation of mice

During her illustrious career Dame Judi has won an Oscar, a Tony, two Golden Globes, six BAFTAs, and seven Olivier Awards. She is widely regarded as one of the world’s most talented stars of screen and stage.

But she has revealed she never wanted to act in the first place. She said: “I didn’t want to be an actor at all. I wanted to be a designer.

“I went to York Art School to be a set designer. That’s all I ever wanted.

Judi’s house was built in the 1400s

“My brother Jeff only ever wanted to be an actor and I ended up catching it from him like the measles.

“I just thought, I will try that then. It just happened by chance.”

Chatting to Ollie Alexander on the Acting For Others podcast, Judi also told how she was still struggling to adjust to life post Covid pandemic.

She added: “It has made me very anxious, the pandemic. I have lost my rhythm inside.”
