This fella is one of Britain’s most prolific actors but you probably won’t recognise him – because he is an EXTRA.
David Price has a glittering CV to rival the most accomplished thespians – with roles in everything from Peaky Blinders to the Crown, and Top Gear to Coronation Street.
The ex-marketing expert turned actor has been spotted on some of UK TV’s most famous sets, but as one of the country’s most prolific extras, his roles are often blink and you’ll miss them.

Eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted him alongside Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders as a fellow Labour MP in the House of Commons in the fifth series, being killed by a Dalek in Dr Who, reincarnated as Henry VIII in detective series Shakespeare and Hathaway – and even playing fish finger connoisseur Captain Birdseye in an episode of Top Gear, much to host Matt LeBlanc’s bewilderment.
The 61-year-old from Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, had no desire to become an actor while growing up, and it was only when doctors warned him to destress because of a heart condition that he retired from running a successful PR and Marketing firm.
At a loose end, he agreed to accompany a friend to an audition when he was too afraid to go alone – but it was David who ended up getting hooked on acting, and he’s now one of the UK’s most in-demand actors.
He has now been involved in over 200 projects.
David said: “I spent 25 years in a marketing and PR business and I had a moment where my heart basically gave out and after the surgeons fixed me up they basically said I had to get rid of the stress, so I did, I sold the business.
“My first actual experience of support acting was me helping my friend, his daughter was shooting a film for a university project and he said he’d only do it if I did it, so I thought why not and I really enjoyed it.
“I got involved more and more and I’ve now featured in soaps such as Coronation street, Emmerdale, Doctors, Casualty, and big British TV series such as Peaky Blinders, Shakespeare & Hathaway, The Cobra.
“It’s essentially eight hours of eating biscuits and drinking tea and 25 minutes of work, but the days are so interesting it takes me all around the UK and I meet people who I have become very close with.
He added: “You see a few supporting actors try and chat to the main stars but you’ve got to give them their space, they’ve got so much on their plate just leave them to it and enjoy your tea and biscuits.
“There are a few big names that do really care for the rest of the set, such as Emma Thompson who turned up on the set of the TV series, Years and Years with a huge stack of pizzas for everybody, it was a lovely gesture.
“I had to dress as Captain Birdseye for an episode of Top Gear. Unfortunately, poor Matt LeBlanc had absolutely no idea who I was supposed to be and I had to try to explain the nation’s love for a man who sells fishfingers to one of America’s biggest stars.”
Dave has appeared in over 200 projects which have included some of the nations favourite TV series, such as; Doctor Who as a Dalek victim, Peaky Blinders as a Labour MP in house of commons and Top Gear as Captain Birdseye.
He also appeared in Doctors as a variety of patients, a funeral guest, cinema guest, security officer and chaperone.
Dave also dipped his toe into the soap pool as he starred n Coronation Street as a street regular and Casualty as a patient.
Not only that, other acting credits include Shakespeare and Hathaway as King Henry VIII, Scotty Dog and a bar customer, Sex Education and Ted Lasso as a director.
Finally, other projects have been Cobra as the Chancellor of Exchequer, Man like Mobeen as a BNP thug leader and a homeless man and his next job is as a Bishop in an upcoming episode of the Crown.
