EastEnders star James Bye broke down in tears on Strictly Come Dancing as he thanked BBC bosses for giving him his big break on the show.
The actor – best known as loveable market trader Martin Fowler – became emotional after performing a Foxtrot to Julia’s Theme – the EastEnders theme tune alongside Strictly Professional dance partner Amy Dowden.
The pair joined forces for the choreographed piece in a nod to the BBC’s 100th anniversary for the BBC themed week.

The actor was clearly emotional as he chatted to Tess Daly following the dance.
Pointing over to his EastEnders co-stars in the audience he said: “It means the world honestly to represent my family over there.”
James, 38, also thanked his fans as he explained how his EastEnders role came at a time when he was struggling to make money for his family.
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman after his performance James became overcome with emotion as he admitted feeling very lucky to be part of the BBC family.
He said: “Before the BBC gave me a contract and EastEnders took me on, yeah, I was struggling. You know what I mean. With work and stuff. And I’ve got a family and kids. I owe literally everything to EastEnders. So thank you and to represent you tonight on such a special occasion honestly I… “
James then broke off his speech as he became overwhelmed with emotion and his co-stars applauded him.
Fans then took to Twitter to show their support for the star as they heaped praise on him.
One wrote: ” Well done James. Can’t lie, hearing your story before EastEnders now has me rooting for you. Chin up. And best of luck for the rest of Strictly.”
Another posted:”James Bye is such a likeable chap, never mind the dancing, quite happy if he stays on both EastEnders & #Strictly till the end.”
A third gushed: “James is such a sweetheart really feel for him getting emotional. Love seeing him and Amy perform.”
A fourth offered: “James needs a hug right now #Strictly.”
A fifth Tweeted: “James is so lovely love him loved the dance and love that he’s just a normal guy trying to look after his family.”
