The couple met in 2013 after Dan was a contestant on Big Brother.

He was interviewed by Rylan, who hosted spin-off Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, and they went on to fall for each other and started dating.

Love blossomed and fans were thrilled for Rylan when he and Dan got engaged in 2014.

They tied the knot in 2015, with stars such as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford and Emma and Matt Willis said to have been among the guests.

Their This Morning hosting debut was a hit with viewers and the duo got to fill in for the programme’s regular hosts on further occasions.

Rumours of trouble

Rylan’s marriage has ended

In June 2021 there were rumours that all wasn’t well in the couple’s marriage.

Reports that the pair had broken up started doing the rounds.

And speculation intensified as the TV presenter took a bit of a step back from the spotlight and took time off from his Radio 2 show.

The star went on to confirm the split, saying that he had made “a number of mistakes”.

Opening up in a statement to The Sun, he said that he was seeking help.

“Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair,” he said.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

He explained he was seeking help and took some time away from work as a result.

This year Rylan shared that he tried to end his own life after the break-up.

According to the Daily Mail, he opened up in his new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, saying there was a point where he felt like he couldn’t go on.

He said: “‘What’s the point?’ I thought. I’d lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone.

“So I tried to end it. I won’t go into detail as I don’t think it’s fair on my mum, but thank God I was unsuccessful.”
