X Factor star Daniel Johnson has revealed he had an “explosive” run-in with the late Whitney Houston when filming for the show.
The ex-drama and stage school teacher rose to fame after appearing in the 2009 series of X Factor.
Daniel did well on the show and competed alongside icons such as Diana Vickers, Olly Murs, and Jedward.

The TV star spoke exclusively to the Daily Star at the Pride of Britain Awards earlier this week.
Daniel was in the ‘Overs’ category back then and joked you can only imagine “how old” is now.
He then revealed what happened with him and the I Will Always Love You singer backstage.
The X Factor star said: “So, I once had a call from Simon Cowell and he said ‘I heard you had an explosive argument with Whitney Houston’ and I was like ‘yeah, I had an argument with her’.
“So, what happened was they asked me to sing a song and I’d never heard of it and it was from her new album which had not been released at the time.
“And they made me sing it in front of her and it was about her drug rehabilitation and stuff.
“So, I’m singing this song to her and she was like ‘na, no, you’re not!’ and I’m like I don’t have any choice on the song choice.
“Then she was like that’s not how you sing the song – and sat there with her mogul around her, Clive Davis.
“Simon then later called me and said ‘I heard it didn’t go down well with Whitney’.
Explaining the moment further, Daniel added: “She was honestly like ‘that’s not how you sing it’ and then she sang it at me.
“I was nothing but respectful it was f***ing Whitney Houston – but it was a song called I Didn’t Know My Own Strength – which people know now, but at that point, no one knew it.”
When talking about the show’s reboot which is set to come back next year – he revealed who he thinks should be on the lineup.
Daniel said: “Louis, you’ve got to have Simon, and maybe a Little Mixer – so Jesy Nelson then. She would definitely bring the most press out of the girls.
“Then maybe Dannii or Cheryl then to bring back the OG lineup.
“Also if Dermot would come back that would be great or if Olly Murs would want to come back to host it again that would be great. Olly has to be involved – I know he’s on The Voice but that’s his show.
“The Voice is fine but the X Factor is where you make stars.”
